Mr. Doheny, 55, is Chairman of Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reyes Holdings, LLC, a privately held company based in Rosemont, Illinois. With revenues in excess of $25 billion per year, Reyes is the 12th largest privately held company in the United States. Reyes Holdings specializes in food and beverage distribution and is the world’s largest distributors to McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway and broadline foodservice customers through its Martin-Brower and Reinhart FoodService subsidiaries. Reyes serves more than 150,000 customers out of 180 facilities in twenty countries. Reyes is also the largest beer wholesaler in the United States distributing products for Miller, Coors, Corona, Heineken, Guinness and many other brands.
Mr. Doheny is currently overseeing acquisitions, integration and start-up of distribution and production for the Coca-Cola business for Reyes. By November, 2017, Great Lakes will have acquired 65 distribution centers and 9 bottling plants and will be one of the largest soft drink bottlers / distributors in North America with revenue in excess of $3.5 billion and more than 12,500 employees.
As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2000-2014, Mr. Doheny oversaw all financial aspects of the business including acquisitions and due diligence (more than 100 transactions), financing, reporting, internal controls, capital investments, and budgeting. He also has overseen real estate, fleet management, information technology and human resources and has played a key role in strategy development and legal.
Prior to joining Reyes, Mr. Doheny spent more than 16 years with KPMG LLP in Chicago, IL and Montvale, NJ; 6 years as an audit partner. He was also the founder of the KPMG Audit Committee Institute advising public boards of directors around the world.
He is Co-Founder and Chairman of Cherryfish, LLC, a start-up technology company aimed at helping make charity efficient for charities, individuals and businesses.
In 2016 he was ordained a deacon and serves St. Raphael Catholic Church in Naperville, Illinois.
Mr. Doheny graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in accountancy in 1984 and is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the board of directors of Univar Corporation, a publicly traded chemical distributor and Special Olympics Illinois Foundation. He and his wife live in Naperville and have two adult children.
